88/100. (done entirely in used barrels; 13.2% alcohol with 3.7 grams/liter acidity): Bright pale yellow with a green tinge. Reticent, oak-influenced aromas of marzipan, vanilla, spices, butter and menthol. Fat, rich and sweet but slightly blurry; I would have picked this as a Meursault. This big, soft wine needs more fruit intensity and personality. Finishes with a bit of alcoholic harshness. This showed impressively a year ago but seems to be dominated by its wood and alcohol today.
