Chablis Grand Cru Bougros 2012
Chablis Grand Cru Bougros 2012
Source : Stephen Tanzer - 06/06/2013
90-92/100. (done entirely in older oak barrels): Pale yellow-green. Aromas of lemon, grapefruit, fresh herbs and ginger are accented by discreet oak spices. Glyceral-rich, concentrated and fine-grained, with more oak showing in the mouth than on the nose today. In a rather gentle style, but the wine's salty, crushed-stone finish suggest that there's plenty of structure here for aging.

92-94/100. The 2012 Chablis Bougros is striking. A wine of volume and breadth, the 2012 flows across the palate in all directions, showing superb depth and class. Vinification and aging in oak give the Bougros much of its volume, but without detracting in any way from the wine's balance and overall harmony. A rich, creamy finish rounds things out beautifully. The personality of Bougros seems particularly well suited to the fermentation and aging regime in oak. This is yet another terrific 2012 from Servin.
