Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre 2012
Source : Stephen Tanzer - 06/06/2013
90-92/100. (the crop level was held to 40 hectoliters per hectare due to the April frost and some hail in late May): Pale green-tinged yellow. Exhilarating aromas of lime blossom, orange zest, powdered stone, anise and white pepper. Very ripe, concentrated and dry, with a distinctly saline character to the flavors of citrus zest, fresh herbs and spearmint. Finishes long and vibrant. This very promising wine will need at least a few years of bottle aging.

91-93/100. Servin's 2012 Chablis Montee de Tonnerre reluctantly emerges from the glass with scents of tangerine, honey, mint, succulent yellow peaches and smoke. Subtle and nuanced, the 2012 impresses for its terrific overall balance and complexity I imagine the 2012 will drink well pretty much right out of the gate. It is already pretty delicious, to tell the truth. Hints of smoke and gunpowder linger on the brilliant finish.
