Chablis Vieilles Vignes Massale 2013
Source : Antonio Galloni - Vinous - 25/06/2014
88-90/100. The 2013 Chablis Vieilles Vignes stands out for its energy and pure vertical drive. A bit reticent today, the Vieilles Vignes needs more elevage to flesh out. Today, the Vieilles Vignes is slightly compact, with more minerality than fruit, but all the elements are in the right place for the 2013 to develop nicely over the next few years. The Vieilles Vignes is a selection from within Les Pargues. The 2013 was done 60% in tank and 40% in neutral oak.

88-89/100. (from 50-year-old grapes within Les Pargues; vinified partly in old barrels): Bright yellow. Vibrant lemon zest and crushed stone aromas. Saline and tactile in the mouth, showing good concentration and a hint of banana. Offers a nice combination of energy and sweetness but the very dry finish betrays a slightly disjointed lemony quality. This wine should benefit from its longer elevage.
